In the Salon tray, the airy wicker is edged with a prominent rim in painted veneer. The rim's clean surface is broken by two symmetrical notches, which can be used to get a steady grip on the tray, while also adding form to the design. Classic materials and modern design fuse together to create a sense of edgy elegance.

The idea behind Troll Vase started as a study of the properties of glass, examining how the intensity of color changes depending on the thickness of the material. The result is a vase featuring a dynamic change of thickness throughout, from solid colored base to thin transparent bubble-like top. Troll takes its name from a painting by the famed Norwegian artist Theodor Kittelsen, depicting a mythological water spirit, Nokken, rising from the dark waters of a forest pond. This is a wonderfully rounded vessel with a unique expression. Available in three sizes.

Curator's Notes

Considering raw rattan can take on a variety of forms after processing, it’s a well-loved material that has been used for ages to make furniture and weave baskets. Rattan is also lightweight, durable and flexible to work with providing artisan’s the ability to bend and shape it into intricate patterns or oblong forms. Hairu with the help of designer Rina Ono, combines these properties, traditional techniques and incorporates the perfect proportions for modern living in a series of baskets that gently cradle household belongings. They can be used to store items such as magazines, electronics, towels, throw blankets, toys and accessories.
