Since inception, the Bremont Supermarine range has had a distinctive look and feel. The robust diver’s timepiece features a larger case size at 45mm. Bremont developed the more technical S2000 enabling it to withstand further depths and making it the deepest diving watch within the entire collection. The new S2000 designs feature an updated sapphire uni-directional rotating bezel with 20-minute red marker, which ties in the red tip at the end of the minute hand. The knurled effect on the dial’s centre teamed with clean and crisp linear markings on the bezel and inner dial ring offer a fresh look. Turning the timepiece over reveals its updated case back design showcasing a stamped submarine screw.

The Argonaut, a name inspired by Greek mythology and synonymous with Navy history having appeared on Commissioned ships for nearly 250 years. This exciting new 42mm hardened steel-cased military dive watch, houses a three-handed chronometer rated BE-92AV movement. The internal rotating bezel is operated by a crown at 4 o’clock, and readability on both the hands and dial have been crucial in the design process. With minutes being so critical in the marine environment, the highly legible orange minute hand can be seen very clearly and is filled with custom green Super-LumiNova®.

The first diving watch Bremont ever produced was the 43mm Supermarine 500 which was introduced back in 2009. Co-Founders Nick and Giles English had wanted to build a robust but beautifully engineered diving watch that was very practical in design, but also tied into the brand’s strong aviation heritage. The watch had to also hold its own against any other mechanical professional diving watch in terms of engineering, design and price point. The range was named as a tribute to the brothers’ love of the iconic British aircraft manufacturer responsible for the Supermarine S6B Schneider Trophy Seaplane and of course the incredible Supermarine Spitfire.

The DNA of the U-2 chronometer lies firmly with the military following the pioneering development and dramatic success of the Bremont military air-crew watch developed in association with the world’s largest ejection seat manufacturer, Martin-Baker. The elite 9th Reconnaissance Wing at Beale wanted a watch with the same testing history as the Bremont MB but one that had also been custom-tested to their own requirements. The finished U-2 chronometer has most of the advanced elements of the MB, including; the Anti-shock rubberised movement mount; designed to withstand the MB ejection seat program, but also added functionality.
