Unfold Pendant Lamp

The Lido Pendant transforms the classic linear pendant light into a sculptural design that illuminates and captivates. The long, streamlined form is constructed from two acrylic channels, one of which is inverted, creating a subtle effect of reflection and balance. Two color options—translucent Smoke Acrylic or the more opaque White/Frosted Acrylic combination—create unique plays of light that are particularly striking over a dining table.

Pendant crafted from precision-cut, 1/4" acrylic.
For the White/Frosted acrylic version: the pendant end faces and top components are in frosted acrylic and the main component is translucent white acrylic.
For Smoke acrylic version: the whole pendant is transparent smoke acrylic.
Acrylic edges are flame polished for clarity and smooth finish. Panels are joined with invisible, UV-cured adhesive. Shade has an open bottom.

The Copenhagen Pendant shade is formed from a single piece of metal, which is matte lacquered after being spun into shape, or opal glass. The suspension is made from laser cut steel that undergoes a special plating process to produce the desired matte finish. All pendants are supplied with black matte domed canopies 5" diameter. The small and medium include 13 feet of black fabric cord; the large includes 19 feet. Bulb not included.

Copenhagen Pendant

Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system during 1925/1926. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. His work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed, and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source. The PH 4½-4 Glass Pendant is a member of the three-shade family and is one of 19 versions available today. Approximately one thousand models have been produced over the years and consisted of table, floor and wall lamps, as well as a number of chandeliers, which were popular in the 30s for lighting private homes with high ceilings. There were countless combination options. The lights were available in different colors, as well as a range of sizes. The first shades were made of metal with a painted underside, such as white, gold or silver depending on whether diffuse, warm or cold light was desired. Glass was later introduced to the three-shade system. In addition to the downward-directed light, glass lamps illuminated the room. PH was the first person to pursue a scientific approach to light and use the logarithmic spiral as a basis. By using a design based on the logarithmic spiral, he achieved even distribution of light over the entire curve of the shade. This even light distribution, together with the diffuse reflection through the glass, made it possible to control glare and shadow. Each shade reduces the amount of light equally due to their distance from the light source. The PH light model numbers refer to the shade size. Each top shade had a corresponding set of middle and lower shades. In the pure models, such as the 2/2, the top shade has a size of about 20 cm, with corresponding lower shades. The PH 4½-4 Glass Pendant consists of an approximately 45 cm top shade, but uses lower shades from the 4/4 model. These hybrid models were introduced due to the desire to hang the pendants at lower heights. The system was also used for wall, table and floor lamps. Made of natural (untreated) bamboo ply. The flat pack kit includes the plastic assembly clips, a round white ceiling canopy and a 10' electrical cord with bulb socket that fits standard 100 watt, 120 volt incandescent bulbs.

The Floral Pendant is available in the indicated colors, with Side A / Side B. Images show Side A on the outside and Side B on the inside, but all pendants can be assembled with sides A and B swapped. All painted colors are available with Caramel at an additional cost. Custom colors are also available at an additional cost and extended lead time.

Floral Pendant

The VL Ring Crown family derives from a lamp designed by architect Vilhelm Lauritzen for the Danish Broadcasting House in Copenhagen in the 1940s. The wall lamp and pendant versions, with the characteristic organic form, were put to good use at the Danish Broadcasting House. For this project Vilhelm Lauritzen also created the VL38 and VL45 lamps. The original VL Ring Crown never appeared there, but not long after, a Ring Crown based on the original drawings was launched. In 1947, the designer Finn Juhl, who worked for Vilhelm Lauritzen, used the VL Ring Crown as part of the interior design for the Danish porcelain manufacturer Bing & Grøndahl in Copenhagen. True to its original materials and design, the VL Ring Crown was reintroduced in 2019. It’s made of untreated, polished brass and with three, five or seven shades in glossy white, triple-layered, handblown opal glass. It was complemented by the wall lamps and pendant originally installed in the Danish Broadcasting House. The VL Ring Crown family brings a distinct and authentic touch to stylish interiors as well as a warm light to softly illuminate contemporary living.

In 1955 Barba Corsini renovated the loft space within Antonio Gaudi's famous building "La Pedrera" in Barcelona, transforming it from a simple laundry room and storage area into 13 modern duplex apartments. Corsini used a series of parabolic arcs to create individual rooms and give an illusion of space and height. To reinforce the modernist style of the rooms, Corsini decorated the apartments with furniture and lighting that he designed himself, including the perforated metal lighting line know as the Pedrera series.
