First designed in 1947, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp Collection has stood the test of time. With the Bellevue Lamp, Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen embodies the minimalism of the Modernist Movement with the functionalism of Bauhaus. The re-launch of this iconic lamp involves a return to the original Bellevue shape in three styles: the floor lamp, desk lamp and wall lamp. To enhance their appeal in a contemporary setting are new colors and a mix of materials.

Designed for apartment no. 50 at Le Courbusier’s ‘Cité Radieuse’ in Marseille, the Phare Lamp’s aesthetic was centred on the idea to create a fully recyclable product that would become a versatile everyday companion; one that could correspond to the landmark’s style and improve its inhabitant’s daily comfort. While the building’s flat roof caters to social needs, it lacks built-in lighting, which is where the Phare lamp provides a remedy: lightweight and simple to transport, the design and materials take its inspiration from Cité Radieuse’s roof construction. Crafted out of aluminium for 100% recyclability, durability and lightness, the lamp’s sphere/shade, meanwhile, is made from injected plastic, offering long-term durability and safety (both for the lamp and user). Its design is the result of a reduction process that focused on adding in all necessary parts without adding too much. Rather, by omitting superfluous or decorative elements, only its function gives it its formal language. Phare transforms into a daily companion that can be freely placed, hung or taken outside as long as conditions are dry according to need. Whether standing or hanging, Phare is not a lamp to be utilized in merely one spot, but celebrated for its versatility. It’s simple good taste and composition will suit all residences – from Le Corbusier’s establishment to a contemporary, urban flat, Phare stands in opposition to the planned obsolescence of products to serve and live longer.

Nelson was inspired by a set of silk-covered Swedish hanging lamps that he wanted to acquire for his office, but he found the price to be prohibitive. An ingenious and resourceful designer, he went on to create the first set of Bubble Lamps using a translucent white plastic spray. Nelson drew from elemental, organic shapes in making variations including sconces, table lamps and floor lamps.

Pendants include a brushed, nickel-plated steel ceiling plate measuring 5.25" and a 6-foot cord. Product is UL-listed and rated for bulbs up to 150 watts. Bulb is not included.

Nelson™ Ball Crisscross Bubble Pendant

Poul Henningsen designed the three-shade system used in the PH lighting series during 1925/1926. The first lights using the system were designed for an exhibition in Paris. The 3/2 pendant is a member of the three-shade family and is one of 19 versions available today. Approximately one thousand different models have been produced over the years and consisted of table, floor and wall lamps, as well as a number of different chandeliers, which were very popular in the 30s for lighting private homes with high ceilings. Henningsen was the first person to pursue a scientific approach to light and use the logarithmic spiral as a basis, which results in an even distribution of light over the entire curve of the shade.

Poul Henningsen's work with Louis Poulsen continued until his death in 1967. Throughout his life, PH sought to create glare-free lighting; aiming to direct light where it was most needed and creating soft shadows while using incandescent bulbs as a light source.

Ava Chandelier - Aged Metallic Glass

The warm, filtered light housed within the Maija series now with LED technology, in the new hanging lamp version based on the original 1955 design and re-edited in two sizes: Maija S and Maija L. Its translucent white glass diffuser helps to nuance and focus the light. In the language of Finnish functionalism, the Maija series conveyed the feeling of Baltic light from the inside outwards, with a graceful, durable structure reminiscent of the childish honeycomb of naughty honey bee Maya, the heroine of stories and cartoons that originally inspired its name. Maija was a very popular lamp from the start. It was the only one made by this first major Finnish industrial non-architect designer after Alvar Aalto, and who is now recognised as a maestro of generations. An opaque body with a brass structure fragmented into superimposed plates, filters and directs its happy inner light. The full series of the famous Finnish classic comprises floor, table top and hanging versions.

Maija 15 Pendant - White

Fritz Hansen’s Bulb Fiction™ is close to the classic incandescent bulb, but the shape has been upscaled and designed as a whole unit, uniting socket and bulb into one iconic shape. The same applies to the cord, which has been given extra volume using a thick, white silicone cover. Bulb FictionTM consists of a hand-blown acid-treated opal glass shade and an aluminum suspension with a soft, organic shape.

Bulb Fiction™ is constructed with an aluminum suspension and an acid frosted opal glass shade. The white PVC cord measures 118" and includes a white canopy. Bulb not included.
