factory zoomer calls this the "Nero Jug" in reference to the incredibly deep black color a chieved by sandwiching a layer of black glass between two layers of clear glass. A thin strip at the base is left clear revealing the layers, an unparalleled skill of the factory zoomer studio and their founder Kazumi Tsuji. Its amazing glass could be this dark!

In pre-Hispanic times, Mexican glassware was derived from volcanic, or obsidian, glass. The Spanish introduced clear handblown glass in Mexico during the 16th century. The first handblown glass industry arose in Puebla, before expanding into nearby states. This St. Frank piece was made in a remote town in the neighboring state of Hidalgo, where the entire community works in a family-owned factory established thirty years ago. Each piece is created through a collaborative process where it is handed from one maestro to the next until the piece is finished.
This glass is handblown. Care and cleaning: Your handblown glassware was created in traditional craft techniques and should be handled with care to help ensure its preservation. Please clean with water and soap. Do not clean in dishwasher.
