In keeping with Cabana tradition, the story of our Blossom plates begins with the discovery of a wonderful antique piece: in this instance a vintage plate that Martina Mondadori found in her grandmother’s kitchen cabinet. The oval platter's floral motifs of yellow and burgundy, typical of handmade Italian ceramics, have been given a modern burst of extra colour but retain every ounce of their rustic charm. Laden with summer pasta or fresh fruit, this platter is the perfect centrepiece for any table. These plates are produced exclusively for Cabana in Umbria, where a small team of artisans paints each piece by hand. Typifying our ethos of collaboration with local craftspeople, each Blossom plate stands as a unique testament to the marriage of history and innovation that defines Cabana.

Savor your favorite soups or pastas in this plain porcelain shallow bowl; its a design you will appreciate for years. Classically elegant in soft white and finished with a high gloss glaze. Suitable for intimate gatherings in your home or for commercial use.
Motivated by being able to infuse more character into each piece through the hand-crafted process, sculptor and designer Julian Sainsbury set up his own artisan workshop in 2013. Some of his pieces are made by hand on a jolley machine, a device that forms clay into a spinning mould; while others are hand thrown on a potter’s wheel. The porcelain used is a beautiful soft white and preferred for it’s strength and durability. The strength comes from firing it at an extremely high temperature. Julian’s design style is utilitarian but his ceramics boast with character and charm.
