The W Traction Insulated Shirt is a perfect AETHER piece in that it has the technicality to make it into your ski or snowboarding arsenal, but it’s sophisticated enough for dinner with friends. Made from 100% merino wool that is sourced in NewZealand and woven by one of our favorite Italian mills and then lined with 60 gram of Primaloft® Eco insulation (made with 80% recycled fibers), the women’s Traction is much more than an insulated shirt. It’s a great alternative to a sweater; it’s the perfect layer for a day on the hill; and it’s sophisticated enough for whatever happens after the lifts close, too. There are matte-black snaps at the center-front placket, chest pockets, and sleeve cuffs and hidden snaps at the sleeve plackets so you roll up the sleeves if you want. Concealed-entry hand pockets at the side seams keep the silhouette sleek while giving you a place to warm your hands. Thoughtful design details include herringbone webbing tape along the center-front placket, a custom quilting pattern on the interior, hidden zigzag quilting under the collar, and a shirttail hem. A piece this versatile means you’ll have room to pack an extra pair of shoes.
