Woven by the Aït Bou Ichaouen Tribe, Talsint rugs are named for the largest town in the area where this Berber nomadic tribe comes from. Ait Bou Ichaouen weavings are unlike those found in other parts of Morocco. Living in an isolated area unknown to the carpet world until the late 1990s, the weavers make bold use of colors arranged in striking designs. Many of their designs and techniques have not been identified elsewhere in Morocco. This one-of-a-kind whimsical work of art is both durable and warming to any space. Easy to clean, this rug is suitable for spaces experiencing heavy foot traffic. Kenya Knight, a Hollywood-born California girl, and Taib Lotfi, a Moroccan of Berber descent, founded Soukie Modern with the vision of blending the best that their cultures have to offer…something like to call a “Collective Casbah”.
