The year was 1958.  The designer was Eero Saarinen.  The Collection: The Single Pedestal Furniture Series.  Who could have imagined at the time how this 47-year-old Finn would change the world of interior design forever.  Combining a cast aluminum base with either plastic, marble or a wood veneer top, Saarinen launched this series in New York and received a fantastic reception.  Over 50 years later, the Saarinen Tables from the Pedestal Series continue to be used by designers and design enthusiasts for a variety of applications.
The Saarinen Table is a fluid exchange of lines from top to bottom and from side to side. Saarinen used a variety of bases and tops for various interiors during his career. The Saarinen Tulip Table shown here is a favorite as it can be used in a variety of spaces, but is most commonly used as a dining or conference table.

This oval tulip dining Saarinen Tulip Table has an epoxy lacquered cast aluminum base in white, black, or silver. The Saarinen Table base is treated with a clear protective finish to resist scratches, stains, and scuffs. Saarinen Table stone tops are protected with a natural wax finish.
