About the Artist: Aaron Barton has been drawing pictures most of his life. As a child it was pencil drawings of trucks and spaceships, as a teen it was dragons and wizards. Unfortunately, he stopped for several years while deciding "what he was going to be when he grew up." Eventually a close friend convinced him to start again. And when he did, he picked up a pen and started drawing people. Over the past 25 years his style has changed a bit, but humanity remains his inspiration. Whether the final piece is an expression of joy or sadness, the process of putting black dots on a white page is where he finds his peace.

Aaron is a winner of Common Deer's 2020 call to artists for the "This is Vermont" print series, an anual art competion held by CD to celebrate Vermont based artists and our community.
