Three Sisters represents the major food staples for Indigenous peoples in North America: maize, beans and squash. The three crops were historically grown together; the maize stalks provided a structure for the beans to climb and shade for the squash. Our Three Sisters embroidery illustrates the three agricultural staples in hues of green and marigold.
