The largest in the series, Stockholm is designed for indoor use, and offers a little extra kick beyond Vifa’s portable designs. Its eight powerful speakers handily saturate a small office, loft, or gallery in a rich blanket of quality sound while utilizing an endless array of music platforms. Stockholm is also surprisingly light 22lbs, infinitely easier to pick up and relocate than a series of independent speakers, receivers, and amplifiers. This encourages the same sense of play and mobility found in Vifa’s portable speakers, now reconceived as an indoor experience.
Thick sheets of bass and nimble high end operate in the service of truly authentic sound expression, clarifying rather than reshaping the tone of the original recording. Vifa has its company origins in wholesale speaker manufacturing, supplying many top audiophile brands since the 1930’s. The same speakers are now employed here for the first time in a vertically-integrated series focused on end-to-end quality of manufacture. Vifa has since won Germany’s prestigious iF Gold Award and Red Dot Design Award for the series.
