Originally designed in 1950 by Hans J. Wegner, Carl Hansen & Søn reintroduces this classic based on Wegner’s original drawings.

The CH23 is an early example of Wegner’s unique style and insightful craftsmanship with elegantly shaped cruciform caps on the backrest and the special double-woven seat.

The chair has no armrests, making it practical for fitting around the table, even in small spaces. Thanks to its ingenious design and organic form, the CH23 is both stylish and comfortable.

The CH23 is made of solid oak or walnut with a form-pressed veneer backrest. The chair is available in different finishes, with the special double-woven papercord in either natural or black. Oak/Walnut is a mixed version with an oak frame and walnut backrest.

Please note that the cover cap will come standard in the same material as the backrest, however it can be in oak or walnut at no additional cost. If you would prefer a different combination, please indicate as such in the Notes section when checking out. Black Painted is only available with a Black Painted cover cap.
