Drawing on expertise in cabinetmaking and upholstery, Hans J. Wegner designed the CH72 Sofa for Carl Hansen & Søn in 1952. A beautifully crafted fusion of aesthetics, function, and comfort, the sofa appears as stunning today as it did over half a century ago. First presented in 1952 at the Danish Furniture Design exhibition in Copenhagen, the sofa features a fluid design with compact proportions and a slimline frame. The two-seater sofa is ideal for a smaller home as well as an open-plan space, given its striking appeal from all angles. Wegner’s thorough understanding of complex upholstery techniques is evident where the fabric meets the slim wooden armrests.

The CH72 sofa has a fully upholstered frame, a loose seat cushion, and elegant tapered legs in solid wood. The armrests and legs are available in oak and walnut, and the upholstery fabrics come in an array of colors and textures.
