Eero Saarinen designed the groundbreaking Womb Chair at Florence Knoll's request for "a chair that was like a basket full of pillows... something I could really curl up in."  The Womb Chair and Ottoman (1946) has an enveloping form that continues to be one of the most iconic and recognized representations of mid-century organic modernism. By applying foam molded over a fiberglass shell, Saarinen created a single-piece form that perfectly facilitates a relaxed sitting posture. The much loved design is now available in a 62" settee for two.

Presented are the standard fabric upholstery options. The chair can be upholstered in a wide variety of colors and fabrics, including KnollTextiles fabrics and a range of Spinneybeck® leathers.

Seat shell is foam-covered molded fiberglass with a polished chrome finished steel rod base. Stainless steel and nylon glides. GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified®.
