This flat weave, handwoven rug is made in Teotitlán del Valle, a small rug-making town about 40 minutes outside of Oaxaca City, where techniques, foot looms, and the passion for rug-making has been passed down through generations. Each rug is made one by one, woven row by row, with hand-dyed locally grown wool.

Heritage techniques are celebrated in each piece of Archive New York’s vibrant, colorful pillows, blankets, rugs, and towels. Their team works exclusively with artisan weavers in Mexico, Guatemala and India to help preserve fragile art forms and approaches to design that support slow production practices. Archive New York products are made with locally sourced fibers and natural dyes wherever possible, and are handwoven with both traditional backstrap looms and foot looms. Archive New York is a women-owned company based in Los Angeles, California and pays living wages to all their artisan partners through either direct trade or certified Fair Trade groups.
