The Currant dining chair takes inspiration from classic mid-century design and showcases the eye-catching vibrant colors found in Greenington’s new Amber bamboo. Modern design with a timeless appeal, and quality crafted in earth friendly solid bamboo. Sustainable and environmentally safe, the Amber color is not a stain finish, simply an innovation created using earth friendly heat, steam, and pressure to transform the bamboo into Amber’s deep color. The finished product displays a beautiful grain pattern with continuous color throughout the entire material.

All Greenington products are made with composite bamboo, pressed together with an adhesive that contains formaldehyde. High levels of formaldehyde are known to cause cancer, birth defects, and other health problems. We have verified the levels of formaldehyde in Greenington products are very low at .01 ppm, below the standards for the state of California and Greenguard (<.05 ppm).

Each piece of their furniture is either composed of solid strips of bamboo or individual strands of bamboo fibers. The bamboo is interwoven, soaked and then pressed into a mold using a hydraulic press that heats and compresses the bamboo and transforms its color into a beautiful honey-toned caramel. Greenington pays fair wages to all their artisans and employees in China.
