Freeway Eyewear launched six sunglass styles in the Spring of 2010.  Each of six styles are numbered after an iconic Los Angeles routes: 1–Pacific Coast Highway, 10–Santa Monica Freeway, Interstate 15, 101–King's Highway, 110–Harbor Freeway, and 405–San Diego Freeway.   The design is an interpretation of classic sunglass styles with the added verve of the Southern California lifestyle.
Founder, Alex Israel is a native California artist and received his MFA at USC.  His work is in many major museums across the world, including MOCA.
