In 2010, MillerGoodman made a book called ‘Faces’ for the Tate. For the book, they made characters out of clay, sculpture, junk, paint – anything they could get our hands on! They wanted to offer a version of their first toy, Shapemaker, which could allow people to play in a similar way – but this time, instead of creating shapes, the emphasis would be on creating faces. This is how Facemaker was born....
