These cotton scarves has been dyed by hand using dye extracted from the leaves of the Indigo plant and the Acacia Catechu tree. Indigo has been used as a natural blue dye for centuries with many vibrant examples still surviving today. There are many different varieties of Indigo plants,  "Indigofera Tinctoria" from India is used to dye these pieces.
