The dyed textile is finished with a slightly frayed edge and our signature St. Frank plate. The tablecloth is available in four sizes, 62" x 78", 64" x 90", 70" x 90" (designed for a table of four) and 70" x 108 (designed for a table of six).

Provenance

Mud cloth is a traditional West African textile. As the name suggests, the fabric is created by using fermented mud to produce pigment for dye. This tablecloth, made in Burkina Faso, is comprised of Burkinabe cotton, naturally dyed with mud-based pigment from the Niger river, and decorated with geometric patterns drawn over the mud pigment with soap. Mud cloth was traditionally worn by hunters, offering camouflage, ritual protection, and a sign of status. More recently, mud cloth has become a symbol of Burkinabe cultural identity and has been exported as an iconic international textile used in fashion, home design, and fine art.
