Heavily influenced by functional attire of the past, our inspiration for the Gates vest comes from the desire to reinterpret the classic photojournalist vest. We wanted to keep the functional elements of this safari staple while slimming and lengthening the body.  The result is a lightweight garment featuring 6 front pockets designed to keep all your travel essentials where you can easily find them.  The Gates is made in Hawaii from a water resistant cotton polyester poplin and field tested during hikes through the Ko’olau mountain range and impromptu escapades to some of Baja’s lesser known surf locales.

Inspired by our camping trips through the central coast of California, the Redwood candle is reminiscent of mornings spent waking up slow under a canopy of Sequoias.
Fragrance includes rich notes of bergamot, muget, white rose and smokey sandalwood.
Contains botanical wax, a natural cotton wick and perfume grade hand blended fragrances.

WARNING Burn within sight. Keep away from flammable objects. Keep away from children and pets. Burning Instructions: Trim wick to 1/4" before lighting. Description
With the majority of our time spent in either Southern California or Hawaii we’re fortunate to enjoy relatively mild weather year round. However, even with a moderate seasonal change it’s easy to find oneself playing a game of getup guesswork… stuck with the uncertainty of knowing one layer won’t cut it but a proper jacket will leave you overheating when the sun breaks through the clouds.
Our intent in designing the Paki was to create a functional second layer that can dress up any look. Taking style cues from work wear worn on the Hawaiian sugar plantations of the 1800’s we added one chest pocket and two lower-front pockets to provide storage and easy access to one’s daily essentials.
As a part of our Holiday 16 collection the Paki is available in 4 different fabric options. Cut and sewn in downtown Honolulu.

About the name:
The name for this piece comes from Abner Kuhoʻoheiheipahu Pākī, friend of King Kamehameha III and father of Bernice Pauahi Bishop. Pākī, served as Privy Councillor, Chamberlain to the King, Assistant Judge of the Supreme Court, and in the House of Nobles from its founding in 1841 until 1855. The most prominent feature of his character was his firmness; when he took a stand he was immovable.
