Hans J. Wegner designed this series in the early 70s with the Danish firm Johannes Hansen, producing a limited number at that time. While there has been no production since then, a few pieces have appeared in auctions during recent years and their rarity and beauty have kept prices high. Carl Hansen & Son was chosen by the Hans J Wegner Studio to relaunch the series on the occasion of Carl Hanson & Son's 100th anniversary in 2008 (hence the series name CH100).

The Mariposa Sofa radiates an inviting aura of spacious comfort and yet maintains a subtly understated presence thanks to its balanced proportions. The sofa owes its extraordinary comfort, on the one hand, to the pleasantly soft upholstery, which completely surrounds the sitter and prevents contact with any hard structural elements. On the other hand, an ingenious adjustment mechanism makes it possible to individually tilt the side and backrest elements for various sitting or reclining positions.
The name of the sofa refers to its refined functionality: the wing-like motion range of the soft, slender panels reminded the designers of a butterfly 'Mariposa' in Spanish.

A chair of sophisticated aesthetics in a pure and compelling form. The natural webbing is twisted by a 35 millimeter horizontal and 50 millimeter vertical webbing-band, making it an outstanding design element all the while fitting the chair’s dimensions to perfection. This element continues upon the backrest for a fully complete interaction. The backrest is also twisted on both sides so no matter which angle it is seen from the design is complete. The natural webbing makes the chair particularly comfortable and adds, as the solid oak, to the quality for a long-lasting usage. The armrest adds to this elegance and comfort with a widened area to lean on and ends with a natural spot for your hands. Even though the armrest is in a natural height, they stand out as the backrest dimension is cut down the minimum. "With the Motif Armchair we wanted to create a chair that is harmonious and beautiful from all angles. Therefore, the back of the backrest is also webbed which renders it aesthetically pleasing when placed against a table. The designer's Italian flair for lightness and elegance is united with the trademark quality and precision of the Swiss company Vitra.
The clean lines and geometric forms of the generously dimensioned sofa elements create a spacious platform for sitting or reclining. Despite its expansive proportions, Grand Sofa has a graceful silhouette: the slim, fabric-covered body is doubly angled to form a cascading seat, backrest and rearward ledge. The body is supported at two points under each end of the seat surface and behind the backrest by a bridge-like aluminium base frame, making the sofa appear to float above the floor. The seating elements are open on the sides, which emphasises the horizontal planes of Grand Sofa. Consumers can choose between a full-length backrest or a shortened version. This makes it possible to produce large seating arrangements with gaps and viewpoints a sofa landscape with an almost topographical character, conveying an expression of lightness and variability.

The Organic Chair – a small and comfortable reading chair – was developed in several versions for the 1940 ‘Organic Design in Home Furnishings’ competition organised by the Museum of Modern Art in New York. With its sculptural shapes, the design was ahead of the times. But due to the absence of suitable manufacturing techniques, the armchair never went into production. Not until 1950 did it become possible to manufacture and market organically shaped seat shells in large quantities, as exemplified by Charles and Ray Eames's famous Plastic Armchair or Saarinen's Tulip Chair.

This version of Chairik has a shiny chrome frame with a sled base and a low back that is ideal for both dining and office settings. The bottoms of the runners are equipped with plastic glides, which act as spacer blocks when stacking. It is fully upholstered.
