Collaborations with Mark Albert are always a labor of love. We've spent a few years now figuring out just what we want in a boot, and we've nailed it! First, we found the perfect silhouette. A classic six inch with Vibram sole. That was a must.
Next, we had the hard task of deciding on leathers. Mark has a warehouse full of the most insane archive hides. What we landed on are 3 equally unique and equally beautiful leathers for this second round of collaborations. Then we had to find a way to refine our boots. Everyone has done a 6 inch. Everyone has created a construction style boot that gives you the longevity but not necessarily the everyday wearability you're looking for. Not anymore. We stuck a white midsole in between that beautiful 360 welt and the Vibram 2060 sole. We love the arch in the 2060 vs the 2061. It also pulls away some of that chunkiness that we're fighting against in such a light foam sole.
We knew we weren't quite done without finishing up the tongue and eyelets. We had to go small and pack those bad boys together to create the look we were going for. Six eyelets and three small speed hooks are definitely not the norm, but we absolutely love the way it looks. And it will honestly be one of the best out-of-the-box fits you've ever put on.
This boot is the first run of the Icon Rust Colorway. We produced it in a very limited run so snag them while you can.
The Icon Rust is a beautiful full-grain leather with a hardy upfront feel but comfortable break-in. The level of patina on these boots in the first 3 weeks of wear is pretty uncanny. This one is the staple boot. It's easy to wear with everything and if you have to have just one pair, this is the one you want. An everyday boot for an everyday wearer.

The fit on this boot can be looked at as true to size with most other heritage boots. For us, it fits a bit small so we size up a half size. For others, it has been spot on. This buffalo leather is soft from the get. The color is spot on. With a hint of gold for pull-up, you seriously can't go wrong. The leather is thin enough to wear in the summer and has an insanely good crackle. The toe cap on this bad boy is structured to make sure the boot holds it's shape. This one's the crowd pleaser.

This boot is a reproduction on the Desert-Oasis Colorway. We produced it in a very limited run so snag them while you can.
The Desert Oasis is a beautiful Tasman leather with a waterproof finish. It's pretty uncanny to pour water over the top of a roughout boot and watch it roll right off. The tongue is the same brown we used for our Peanut Butter Brown. This is seriously such a crisp combo and very quickly came into contention for our favorite.

The Made in Japan series is the most limited and by far our favorite of the current running from Naked & Famous Denim. It is denim that makes you stop and say "Wow." We have fallen in love with one-wash or Tempi treated denim, so it checks that box for us as well. Below you can find all the details about Naked & Famous's latest iteration of denim Made in Japan.
The MIJ7 – Yahan Midnight Selvedge is an unsanforized 17oz slubby Japanese selvedge denim dyed to such a deep shade of indigo that it appears black. Indigo rope dyeing is a delicate process of running cotton yarns through two story dye vats quickly enough that the dye cannot penetrate the core of the yarn. Then the yarn dries and is dipped again, dries and is dipped again. The yarns are dipped dozens of times to achieve that raw denim shade. But here, with just a little black dye added, these yarns have been dyed over and over so many times that they appear black. With wear and age, the opposite process occurs. Each layer of indigo chips away revealing dark blues, then medium bright blues, then light blues, then finally the white core of the yarn. This fabric is made to celebrate the full spectrum of variegated indigo shades. The yarns themselves are irregular, slubby, and woven loosely giving the fabric an organic, uneven grain. The denim is unsanforized but tempi treated, which shrinks the fabric but protects the hairiness, grittiness, and raw denim feel. The MIJ7 builds in the unparalleled detailing of the Made in Japan collection: black iron buttons that will rust, copper rivets that will oxidize, raised belt loops that will fade, a Japanese sheepskin leather patch with the “Flower of Carnage” logo, the MIJ maple leaf embroidered onto the back pocket, micro busted outseam, and a selvedge button fly. Dyed, woven, cut, sewn, built in Japan. The Super Guy is a skinny fit with a medium rise, a slim top block, and a taper from knee to hem.

On this round of denim, we went with an 11oz denim once again. "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." The 11oz brown special selvedge sold so well last time, we knew you guys were looking for another lightweight, easy to break in denim. These puppies are butter, but still with levels of texture. You can see that the grid like pattern in the denim almost confused the camera. We love it when that happens. We also wanted a classic blue. Something that already had a vintage look before even fading. We were so excited to collaborate with Billiam on this deadstock white oak fabric. These are one of the most solid pairs of denim we have in the shop for the upcoming Summer. Celebrate the end of our 6th year by taking a little discount for these puppies, on us.

Gargoyle Pin - Cream

The Nash is a fit made by Indigofera and the artist Israel Nash. This is as close to a pair of skinny jeans as you're going to get from Indigofera. It definitely has the room in the upper part of the jeans to allow you to move freely. It is snug around the calves and ankle but an overall looser cut in the crotch/butt etc.
This is made from a 14oz Japanese Indigo/Black Selvage denim. The outside (warp) is indigo, and the inside (weft) is black. This makes for some incredible fading. I've always seen it as a shadowing effect. This fabric comes from Nihon Menpu in Japan.

14.5oz indigo rope dyed Japanese selvedge denim, woven on vintage shuttle looms in a right hand twill construction.  The Indigo dyed warp and white weft combined with a red line selvedge ID give these jeans a classic look.  The indigo dyed warp yarns start off as a dusty brown shade of cotton. Over time with wear, layers of indigo will begin fade away revealing a brown undertone, hence the name Dirty Fade.
The Naked & Famous Denim "Weird Guy" is a standard tapered fit, comfortable from waist to hip and tapered from the knee to hem. Medium rise.

Craighill did an incredible job with these minimalistic key rings. You can them to hook on your belt loop or as a key grab, all the while feeling good about supporting a small business making amazing products.

Momotaro - 12oz Zimbabwe Cotton Selvedge Black Battle Stripes - Tight Tapered - 0306-12
The 0306-12 from Momotaro is toyt. This is the skinniest fit you can get from Momo. Check your sizes, and most likely size up. These are for the guys with no butts and small legs. The reason we chose the 12oz for this fabric is that you might literally not be able to move if we went with the 16oz slub texture. This fabric is still bonkers. It is a deep classic indigo that will fade appropriately to a vintage blue, but with half the sweat equity.
For this run, we went with black battle stripes to make the denim a little more subtle. The fades on the white can be incredible, but damn is it hard to swallow that stark contrast on first approach. The black will sluff off more naturally with the denim, and from what we think, will stand out nicely against a heavily faded pair. Crocking that makes perfect sense.

The 11oz Stretch Selvedge is a lightweight indigo rope dyed Japanese selvedge denim, woven on vintage shuttle looms in a right-hand twill construction. The fabric is tightly woven giving the jeans a uniform surface appearance. This denim is made with 2% stretch for added comfort, without compromising durability. Other details include contrast stitching, English tan leather patch, red selvedge ID, silver metallic buttons and rivets. HAIRSHEEP is a thin and soft leather with high gloss. The finest hairsheep originates from the high altitude in Ethiopia and is tanned and dyed in Naples.

Warehouse & Co. has been on the list for some time now. Ever since Zach came back from Europe sporting his reproduction tees and jeans made in Japan, we were hooked. The texture of these tee shirts is like no other, and we're so excited to continue working with Warehouse & Co.
To describe this cotton has been hard we find, not only for us but industry-wide. Some people call it slub. We were calling it texture at first, but ultimately our conversations with Warehouse kept bringing up one word - Shadow. When you put these shirts in the proper light, it makes perfect sense. The highs and lows in color can only truly be described as horizontal shadows in the cotton.
These shirts are known for their texture for a reason. Made on Vintage 60's Era sinker knitting machines, these puppies have no side seams. You will also notice a wrapped, ribbed reinforced collar that will stand up to the daily wear you'll throw at a t-shirt. It truly is unlike nearly anything else on the market. The single yarn knit creates an incredible striation that will age and mold uniquely as you wear the shirt. The hand feel is super soft but you get a texture similar to what we look for in our denim. Warehouse & Co makes one of the best tee shirts in the world.

This jacket is incredibly nice. The fabric weight is incredible and has our new favorite feature - a single rinse, or wash. We loveeee type 2 jackets but don't always get behind the non-pocket detail. Call us basic, but living in a cold state and always having a billion pocket accessories changes the game...you need those hand-warmers. For this fit, the took your classic jacket, extended the length a few inches, added slide pockets, and their classic battle stripes. While they may be super contrasting now, give them time. They will crackle and age perfectly. Getting these stripes just right is a painstaking process, and for that we totally respect it.

Fit Notes: Shop owner Tommy is wearing a size 40 or Medium in this piece. Like the rest of Momo's line, this is slim but no more than usual. If you're normally a 40, grab a 40. This thing has been rinsed so expect minimal to no-shrinkage (especially if you beat it up and stretch it out first). There is extra length in this piece, so you don't have to worry about it being to short above the waistline.

The Hank from Indigofera has always been on our radar. That poplin-facing placket is so unique. We rarely see this kind of wonderful twist on a henley, and you can see it translates. The sleeve closures are also a wonderful detail. It makes a huge difference to eliminate the ribbing and allows you to tighten up the sleeve when needed. This is a perfect under-layer. We love it.

The ever-coveted Warehouse & Co denim is finally in stock at the shop. The 800xx is one of their most iconic fits drawing inspiration from the golden age of denim in the 1950s. With Memphis cotton that is moderately slubby and fluffy, this denim mimics the fabric you would've found in denim from that time-period. The cut is a medium/high rise with ample room the thigh and a slim straight cut through the knee and leg opening. As you scroll through the pics you'll notice some of the incredible details listed below. These disappeared quickly last time. It's Warehouse's most sought-after fit.

Fit Notes: These are built for guys with bigger calves or guys who just want a more traditional fit. If you're looking for something that sits a bit higher than a majority of our denim, this is it. They have ample room but aren't wide through the thigh and continue pretty straight throughout creating a classic 1950's slim straight denim. Shop owner Tommy wears a size 31 in the pictures. He would definitely need to size up one to make the waist fit comfortably. You can see this fits slimmer when you size down one, but it will only work if you can fit the slimmer high-rise waist. Tommy is 5'10," 162lbs with a 32-33" waist.
