Our Zenbu Masks have two elastic ear straps with rubber adjusters on both sides of the mask to wrap securely behind each ear. Handmade in Los Angeles from 100% GOTS Certified Organic Cotton Twill, chosen for the density of the weave and premium quality. Our masks have optimal fit with darts sewn to allow the mask to cup the face but not touch the lips, a metal noseband sewn in to mold to your face, and a filter pockets that fits the standard PM 2½ Filter.  Additional ear loops made of strong elastic and stoppers to fit and face.

Two face mask silk filters, made from two layers of 100% pure silk. Fitting our handmade children's Marcella masks or most other masks. We also have silk filters in adult sizes. Please note that this listing is only for two filters as shown in the first photo. Some of the photos feature our face masks shown as a reference. Please note we're sourcing premium silk to make our face mask filters but the silk kind and thickness may vary based on the sourcing limitations we're facing. Regardless, the silk would always be 100% silk, ethically sourced and breathable. SPLIT The filters are washable and reusable without limitations. They should be washed with hot water and tumble dried after every use. A quick note from our founder and designer, Siyana, on why we've decided to launch our innovative washable silk filters: "I'm Siyana, the Head Designer of Marcella. When trying to create a face mask that would offer the maximum possible protection, I decided to research in depth what the best non-medical mask filters are made from. This is when I read about the recent work of the University of Chicago’s Pritzker School of Molecular Engineering, which found that 'the combination of tightly woven cotton and a fabric that holds a static charge, such as silk, seemed to make the most effective combination, filtering out 80– 80 % of the particles, depending on their size. The team even suggests that the performance of this combination is comparable to that of N95 masks, which are used by healthcare professionals.'* This combination of natural fabrics is likely effective because they provide a double barrier: mechanical and electrostatic. Nose wire for ultimate stability and a customized fit, made with noncorrosive, nickel-free metal
Made of two layers of Tencel jersey (tencel and lycra mix).
Lovingly sourced and handmade by our atelier in Bulgaria (Europe).
Machine wash on delicate cycle or hand wash in hot water. Lay flat to dry for best results. Please note that our masks are not pre-washed and are not pre-shrunk. They will shrink after a wash. If you dry them in a dryer, the mask will shrink a bit.

The elastics might vary from those pictured as we are working with numerous materials suppliers across Europe to meet the high demand.

As all of our masks are handmade, there is the potential for very slight size variation (less than 1cm in either direction). If your masks show a larger variation in size and you think you received the wrong size in error, please contact us prior to washing or wearing the masks so we can assist you.
We’ve implemented an enhanced metal nose wire, which is a bit harder than our original nose wire. You may receive your order featuring both types of nose wire.
