The Danish designer Simon Legald has designed a sophisticated range of lamps called Amp for Normann Copenhagen. The range consists of one table lamp and two pendant lamps. Amp is characterized by its high-quality materials of glass and marble that add a visual fragility and sensuous heaviness. Amp has a nostalgic and at the same time contemporary feel.
The idea for the lamp's shape came when the designer was restoring an old 60's radio at home. While searching for spare parts for the radio, he was captivated by the glow that emits from the tube amplifier. The simple oval shape and the glow of the bulb is an obvious reference to this, just as the name Amp refers to the English term; tube amplifier . The proportions for each lamp have been carefully designed. For example, the marble sockets of the two pendant lamps are smaller than the marble base of the table lamp to emphasize their different functions.
The designer has visually highlighted the essential details, such as the way the shade rests on the socket. By combining the two natural materials, an exciting contrast between the transparent, light glass and the solid, heavy marble is created. The decorative bulb emits a stunning glow though the either gold or smoke colored glass lampshades. The lamp is available with a socket or base in impactful black marble or striking jade green, emphasizing the natural colorful elegance of the material.

The Amp Lamps come with matching textile cord, and dimmer switches for the table lamp. The shades can easily be removed when changing bulbs.

Naming this chandelier after the god of light in Greek Mythology is a fitting tribute to the laurel leaf, which has long been associated with the deity. Our Apollo Chandelier evokes the crowns with which the god was often adorned and the tree into which Daphne morphed as she ran from him. Our ambition was to design a pendant with a simple industrial feel, but which was still elegant and poetic. The Copenhagen Pendant is an exercise in contrasts. Combining the classic and the modern, the maritime and the industrial, it is a new pendant developed by Space Copenhagen for &tradition. Following the success‚ of their first collaboration, the Fly Lounge Series, &tradition have worked with Space Copenhagen again to produce a pendant range in matte lacquered metal, one of Space Copenhagen's first lights to enter production. The shade is spun into shape from a single piece of metal and matte lacquered. The suspension is made from milled and laser cut steel which undergoes a special plating process to produce the desired matte finish to compliment the shade. Opal version: The shade is made from mouth-blown opal glass. The suspension is made from milled and laser cut bronzed brass. Please Note: the bulb is not included.
