Ever since the early 1990s, Santa & Cole has championed the use of ribbon shades to embellish all manner of light sources, exploring textiles and experimenting with colours and tones (they even enlisted the help of Raw Color studio). The GT5 was the first in the collection arising as an alternative to the use of continuous textile, methacrylate and cardboard shades. Curator's Notes

‘Kuro-Mura’ refers to the blackened version of Futagami ‘Ihada’ products. The black is achieved through a traditional method of applying a mixture of dark pigment and Japanese lacquer (urushi) onto the surface. The result is a saturated, textural colour.
Crafted entirely by hand at the renowned Futagami foundry in Takaoka city, these pendant shades hang gracefully with their unique geometric forms. The “Myojo” pendant has multidimensional faceted brass surfaces. Includes pendant shade and canopy cup only.
