With Hyg, Simon Legald has designed an exclusive range, in which soft lines and encircling contours create a cozy and pleasant space. Hyg is made for hygge. The series, which consists of a sofa, armchairs and footstool, is like a warm and heartfelt embrace of shape. The ample silhouette radiates a primary organic purity. Its voluminous form is offset by a narrow contour, which hones and refines its expression. The high sides lightly shield off the room, while a broad seat makes it possible to assume a wide range of relaxed seating postures.

Originally this chair was designed by Hans J. Wegner for the DSB (Danish Rail) ferries, however DSB ended up choosing another of Wegner's chairs, PP 208. Subsequently he continued working on the design, and in 1987 PP Møbler started the actual production of the PP58 Chair. With The PP58 Chair, Wegner created comfortable dining chairs suitable for long, cosy evenings around the dining table. As opposed to many of Wegner's more elaborate models, the short armrests have been designed enabling them to, partially, fit under the table, and it can also hang from the table top to make cleaning easier. Each solid wood tenon joint has been tested to withstand one ton of pulling strength.
The three-legged version of pp58 is named pp58/3. More simple in shape and stackable, but yet with the same basic characteristics as its predecessor: Excellent comfort, practical and with a strength and durability to outlast daily use for generations.
Even though the chair only has three legs, it is remarkably stable, and the triangular rail structure under the seat allows the simplest possible construction of the chair. This makes pp58/3 a beautiful and elegant chair for the dining table, and like pp58 it is the result of Wegner's experience from a long life as one of the world's greatest furniture designers.

The Michael Thonet Kontor Bentwood Chair by Ton is a classic addition to any office or home seeking the famed bentwood look. T his model uses a wooden seat and attractive open back. The Kontor Bentwood Swivel Chair is height adjustable from a seat height of 27 1/4" up to 35 1/2" making it usable near almost any desk. Our bentwood chairs come from original factories located in Eastern Europe. Original machinery and jigs are used to complete the process of creating these magnificent modern classics.
In 1861 Michael Thonet found the perfect location to build a new mass production bentwood chair factory.  Eastern Moravia (Czech Republic) provided the optimal conditions of large beechwood forests, inexpensive labor, and a railway to transport bentwood furniture inexpensively throughout Europe.  Only one of these early factories is still in existence, Ton a.s.
Using the same techniques for over 150 years, this bentwood furniture maker still follows old-world processes for manufacturing.  The bentwood furniture you receive now is essentially the same as one might receive in a home in Austria in the 1800s.
