Shu-Ying from SP01 is an exhilarating study in contrasts. London-based designer Tim Rundle melds softly gathered upholstery with a clean-lined, smooth exterior. The refined curves of the frame are shaped from industrial-style steel tubing. And while the overall shape harkens back to something imagined from London or Shanghai in the 1920s, the armchair is resolutely contemporary. Myriad upholstery choices in fine aniline leather, lush velvet or premium textiles are available, with frame in powder-coated black or white satin finish or metallic lacquer in brass or pewter.
