March 1930. Midnight in a Mayfair smoking room, London. The elegant imprint of The Architects Club in Mayfair’s smartest Art Deco bar: Spilled gin martinis on velvet banquettes, and clouds of vanilla and blond tobacco smoke all mingle in the cosy interior.
