Le Corbusier’s LC 1 Basculant Chair was designed in 1928 with the assistance of Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret. With inspiration from an English Officer's Chair, the LC1 was a chair that broke with past elements such as padding or excessive fabric. Instead Le Corbusier’s modernist approach chose to show all aspects of the frame, arms, seat, and back.
