The CH71 Lounge Chair for Carl Hansen & Søn was created in 1952 by the masterful Danish designer, Hans J. Wegner. As well as being a highly skilled cabinetmaker, Wegner was an expert in upholstery techniques, allowing him to create complex pieces such as the CH71. Crafted to be both elegantly compact and supremely comfortable, the CH71 has a slender, angular frame with flowing, sculptural curves. The design showcases a seamless unity of form and function, and an effortless quality that is timeless. Wegner also put great thought into the chair’s proportions, resulting in a streamlined piece that can add style and softness to even the smallest of rooms. The chair can be upholstered in a variety of textiles, while the legs and handles are available in oak and walnut with various finishes.
