Luzern Au Vin Exfoliating Treatment Pads took a while to win us over because we were such big fans of the original Serum Au Vin and, well, change is hard. But we’ll say it: we were wrong to doubt them. Because these exfoliating pads are really, really good. Marvelously so.
These super-exfoliating pre-soaked pads have more of a bite than the original Serum — they’re quite a bit more powerful — but if your skin isn’t very sensitive and you’re looking for a smoothing, pore-decongesting treatment that will improve skin’s texture and smooth fine lines over time, this jar might become one of your favorite things to reach for.
Like the original (now discontinued) Serum Au Vin, these pads feature lactic acid that’s been linked with arginine to reduce the possibility of irritation. But instead of malic acid, they feature salicylic acid to unplug pores; they also feature Vitamin C and discoloration-reducing botanicals so skin looks fresher and brighter. You might just be able to go makeup free in the morning. At the very least, you won't be able to stop touching your smooth, baby-soft face.
(And we know you might be tempted to use this product, delicate flowers. Good news: you can use the peel pads and then rinse for a gentler peel.)

Dr. Lara Devgan’s Platinum Long Lash is the product that first piqued our interest in this superstar Park Avenue plastic surgeon’s line of products. Her proprietary eyelash growth serum has been clinically proven improve the length, density, and growth of lashes and brows without the use of prostaglandins — so it’s safe even for use during pregnancy and nursing, and it avoids many of the common downsides of other lash growth products (such as darkening of the iris or surrounding eye tissue).
Platinum Long Lash contains an oil-free blend of provitamin B5, clover flower extract, and an innovative phyto-peptide complex to extend the life cycle of the eyelashes and promote their growth. As Dr. Devgan explained to us, “Think of this as a fertilizer to enhance the growth of your eyelashes. Lashes have a 4-5 month growth cycle, and they grow until they die; this product supports their growth so that each one lives longer and supports the environmental milieu of lashes for increased density, length, and strength.”
That all sounds great, but the clinical studies on this product sound even better: after 14 days, patients averaged a 25% increase in lash length. After 30 days, they averaged more than 70% improvement in lash density. After 60 days, they averaged a 45% increase in new lash growth.
Given that the full lash growth cycle takes 5 months, you'll likely notice the most significant results after 4 months (each tube typically lasts 2 months). Results vary from person to person, so tracking progress with photos can be helpful for the impatient among us, but you may find that it’s not necessary — our tester noticed a clear difference on her own within a few weeks. And with proven results like these, you can rest assured that those changes aren’t a figment of your imagination.

With just five ingredients, it seems like a “back to basics” product — and yet because those ingredients are so deeply thought out and so fastidiously and sustainably sourced, it elevates the basics to a level of efficacy that can surpass that of the most complicated cleansing-balm formulas.
In choosing the oils to blend into his Clementine Cleansing Balm, creator Dr. Pedro Català very cleverly used the concept of polarity — the fact that oils can be classified by their number and type of electrical charges. Vegetable oils with lower polarity are particularly capable of effectively attracting and sweeping away the most stubborn impurities while also respecting skin’s natural protective barrier, ensuring a deep cleanse without moisture loss.

Olio E Osso Crema is just what we were hoping for from founder Paola LaMorticella, who has been a celebrity makeup artist for 25 years and really knows her stuff. We already adored Olio E Osso’s Tinted Balms —our go-to for quick, super sheer hints of color that can be quickly swept onto cheeks and lips — so, when Paola revealed she was working on a lipstick, we were beside ourselves with excitement. When said lipstick was finally ready, it was even better than we had hoped; well worth the (impatient, on our end) several months of waiting.
The first thing we noticed was the surprisingly and laudably short list of carefully chosen, painstakingly sourced ingredients: as Paula puts it, “I’m on a mission to make the best, creamiest products with the least amount of ingredients…it helps avoid irritants in the formulas, and as a small company, it’s easier to control the supply chain and figure out how things are sourced.”
With its blend of olive oil, sunflower seed oil, and beeswax, Crema Lipstick is creamy, nourishing, and just pigmented enough to give a satisfying pop of color in one swipe, yet beautifully buildable. And it works across a variety of skin types: its rich, creamy milk texture coddles and nourishes even the most sensitive without making combination skin types feel suffocated.
Its secret, TWELVE creator Pedro Català tells us, is a hefty dose of squalane, derived from olives, which helps renew and repair the skin while also purifying. Pedro also revealed that he has a particular soft spot for the cleanser, too; perhaps it’s because TWELVE’s philosophy is to treat the skin gently, supporting its ability to do what it needs to do, and the Purifying Cleansing Beauty Cream is a gorgeous example of that. What made us bring Marie Veronique’s Gentle Gel Cleanser onto our shelves? Well, if you have sensitive skin, you may know this feeling: you want to wash your face, but every gel or foam cleanser seems to be too stripping or irritating, and every creamy or milky cleanser seems like it’s not leaving you feeling quite clean enough.

There’s been a lot of buzz around Kosas (example: massive New York Times Magazine feature), and rightly so. These are among the most weightless, modern, beautifully wearable lipsticks around.
We love the fact that these handmade lipsticks were formulated to be as clean as possible, but with performance as the primary goal. So they’re long-wearing, hydrating, whisper-light, non-waxy, and still good up to 18 months after you first use them despite their green-beauty-approved, preservative-free ingredient lists. Foot Therapy is our latest collaboration with MyHavtorn of Sweden, and we couldn’t be more excited about it. Why? If you use your feet a lot (who doesn’t?) and don’t have time for pedicures as often as you’d like (who does?), you may find that they get a little, well, not-so-baby-soft. But most foot creams out there either don’t exfoliate those rough spots away or they exfoliate them a little too much.
We wanted one that was just right — so we called our friends at MyHavtorn and asked if they’d be up for making one. Thankfully, they weren’t just up for it; they knocked it out of the park. This exfoliating cream, made exclusively for us by MyHavtorn, is everything we’d hoped for. It gently buffs rough spots with lactic acid, nourishes with EFA-rich sea buckthorn oil from the MyHavtorn farm, and freshens with antibacterial tea tree and rejuvenating peppermint. Over the course of a few nights, it will bring feet back into post-pedicure shape; maintenance applications can be made every other night (or whenever one remembers). Or you could just apply it every night because it makes you happy, which is fine, too.
Another thing we love? Although it’s very nourishing, it melts into skin without the typical greasiness of most foot creams — so you won’t slip around in your shower the morning after you apply it. Because we want to help preserve not only your baby-soft feet, but also your dignity.

Gua Sha is a traditional healing technique from China that involves a small, smooth stone board that is pressed against the skin to gently massage facial fascia, muscles, and skin while stimulating specific energy points. This encourages healthy circulation, releases muscular tension, and promotes lymphatic drainage for a more lifted, less puffy look and brighter, healthier looking skin. The release of muscular tension is particularly key, since repeated movements usually underlie the pesky lines that bother us.
We think gua sha is an ideal next step for those of us who are already using great skincare products but are wondering, “What else can I do that doesn’t involve needles, lasers, or knives?” You can complete a simple Gua Sha routine at home in a matter of minutes, and it’s an entirely healthy addiction: if you have a tight jaw, you may find that running your gua sha stone across it every night is the greatest thing you have done for yourself in quite some time.

With this 50% organic cotton and 50% organic bamboo face cloth, he tells us, “The whole idea was to create the softest possible fabric to minimize the dreaded friction on the skin."

Kosas Chemistry AHA Serum Deodorant is one of those delightful surprises we couldn’t possibly have predicted from one of our brands. Deodorant — from Kosas? And yet it is, by far, the current favorite among the Ayla team members who seek the strongest stuff for their underarms: as one of them mentioned, “Even at the end of my moving day yesterday in 106-degree heat, not a whiff of stink!”
The main secret to Kosas Chemistry’s success is its unique AHA blend — shikimic acid, mandelic acid, and lactic acid — which treats smell where it starts, creating a pH environment where odor-causing bacteria can’t survive. And as a side benefit, the blend also addresses underarm discoloration and helps prevent ingrown hairs.
Despite that strength, Kosas Chemistry is incredibly soothing to underarms, even after shaving. The lightweight, fast-drying, non-staining, rollerball-applied formula also includes soothing aloe vera juice, which feels lovely and cooling upon application.
