Description

“Why can’t light pool, drip, or drape?” asks Alex Josephson, cofounder of Toronto design studio Partisans. One of the answers from the Gweilo (Chinese for ghost) series is Han, a floor lamp with a sculptural form that folds and bends like light rays themselves. Handmade by Parachilna in Spain, the thermoforming process takes an etched optical-grade acrylic sheet and produces the signature folds and curves while it is molten and still pliable. A metal strip containing an embedded LED is then affixed vertically to the cooled transparent sheet’s edge to diffuse the light across the etchings, amplifying the illumination. Available in a choice of 2 sizes, Han readily functions as a room accent, divider or simply a wondrous focal point.

The Panthella Mini Table Lamp is a scaled down version of Verner Panton’s original masterpiece. This innovative lamp features vibrant colors drawn from the last project Verner Panton was working on before his death in 1998: the 'Lyset og Farven' ('Light and Color') exhibition, hosted at Trapholt Museum of Modern Art in Kolding, Denmark. “Verner Panton originally developed the Panthella lamp in partnership with Louis Poulsen in 1971. He originally wanted to have Panthella launched with a metal shade, but this was not technologically possible at that time. In other words, the Panthella MINI is a world first, based on Verner Panton’s original drawings," relates Rasmus Markholt, Design Manager at Louis Poulsen. The Panthella Mini emits a soft and comfortable light downwards to ensure the majority of the light is spread diffusely in the room from the surface of the shade. The authentic Cobra Table Lamp is of the most iconic designs by Greta M. Grossman. The table lamp was originally designed in the 1950's and takes its name from the shape of the oval shade, which is reminiscent of a cobra's neck. Due to its groundbreaking design, the Cobra Table Lamp won the Good Design Award in the same decade and was subsequently exhibited at the Good Design Show at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
The Cobra Table Lamp is a classic and yet unique lamp that with its tubular flexible arm can be bent in all directions, allowing the shade to be rotated through 360º. This creates a wide range of lighting options for either the work desk or a soft light in the living room.
The arm of the lamp is movable due to its flex arm and can also be rotated 360 degrees. The textile cord is black on all models.
