Paavo Tynell’s fanciful take on nature is gracefully echoed in the 5321 Table Lamp, designed by the Finnish designer in 1938.

Under the distinctive shell-inspired brass shade, the bulb subtly appears from beneath; a picturesque detail resembling a sea shell pearl. The 5321 Table Lamp is a perfect example on how Tynell brought a playful nature and romance to the simplified style of mid-century modernism. Blending timeless aesthetic with a unique sense of form, the 5321 Table Lamp adds an exquisite character to complement any modern space. Description

For veteran Barcelona-based designer Christophe Mathieu, the spiraling shape of this pendant light playfully shatters the convention of a cleanly regimented form. Piola's central metal column is lacquered the same color as the more than 5 meters of a laminated band that surrounds it, suggesting endless fluidity. Shielding the LED light source within, the fixture emits several different types of illumination—direct downward light, indirect reflected light and a light that escapes between the edges of the spiral, illuminating the fixture itself with a warming glow.

Designed by Àngel Jové in 1971, this handcrafted piece is the ideal companion for late-night conversations. A spectacular lamp that creates a mesmerizing light and an intimate atmosphere.
In the midst of the Spanish transition to democracy, a fresh, provocative group of artists and architects began to sow the seeds of what would later become a multicolor explosion of modern night bars, very popular in the early 1980s, contrasting with Barcelonas grey, mundane panorama at the time. Àngel Jové was one of those urban conspirators.
The lamp refers to the biblical story of the unfinished Tower of Babel. The lamp, however, offers a different perspective. Made entirely from alabaster, its robust tower is perfectly finished and shines with convening power.

Anthology Wall Sconce

Poul Henningsen developed the PH5 Pendant in 1958 in response to constant changes to the shape and size of incandescent bulbs by bulb manufacturers. The PH5 was introduced as a classic new product, and no one knew at the time that it would eventually become synonymous with the PH light. Irrespective of how the light is installed or the light source used, the PH5 is and remains completely glare-free due to its reflective three-shade system, which directs the light downwards. The fixture emits both downward and lateral light, thus illuminating itself.

At the introduction of the PH5, Poul Henningsen wrote: "After 33 years of basically Christian behaviour I have converted to Islam in my relationship to the manufacture of incandescent bulbs. For a generation I have believed that consideration for the consumer and common sense would prevail, but now I have become a fatalist. I have accepted fate, and with Louis Poulsen´s permission I have designed a PH fixture which can be used with any kind of light source, Christmas lights and 100 W metal-filament bulbs. Although a fluorescent tube would be too much to ask in the existing form!"
