The hugely evocative shade on the M68 lamp immortalizes the silhouette of a woman’s shoulders. It is an aluminum re-edition of the famous methacrylate pop lamp from the 1960s – also by Miguel Milá – and it is now available in lively red or matte white, as well as in polished aluminum.

Since the shade is opaque, its bell-shape cross section gives it a large inside surface to diffuse the light. The electrical cable runs from the top middle area of the shade along with a tiny metal cylinder that links the shade and the steel wire that holds it aloft. In short, M68 is the friendliest way of lighting a large table.

Void Pendant - Stainless

The Ronde Pendant is Oliver Schick's first product for Gubi. The bell-shaped piece has reference to the traditional pendant lamp and the heyday of 1970s lightning design; however, in a modern interpretation.

A unique detail is the opening on the top with an overhanging collar that reminds of a jar such as a vase or an amphora. The mainly downwards directed light from conventional pendant lamps does in this design also spread out of the spout-like opening and casts a smooth light gradient at the wire and ceiling. The hand-turned aluminum lamp shade with an ultra-matte lacquer almost makes it look as if it was made of ceramics.

Ronde is in several languages the word for round, circular or rotating but it is also the flat blank used for metal spinning technique, which is rotating around a molded core and shaped to a 3-dimensional body.

The iconic three shade system of the PH series of lighting fixtures was created in 1925/1926 by Poul Henningsen for an exhibition in Paris. The designer was determined to produce glare free lighting that was directed where it was needed most while creating soft shadows. The three shade system creates an even distribution of light as each shade reduces the light equally due to their distance from the light source. This is the first lamp to have been created using the scientific model of the logarithmic spiral as a basis for light distribution. There have been approximately one thousand variations of the original lamp with several floor, table, wall, and pendant versions currently available.

First designed in 1947, the George Nelson Bubble Lamp Collection has stood the test of time. The simple structural shapes with the innovative use of taut plastic over fine steel wire were born from George Nelson's frustration to buy a Swedish-made silk lamp which produced a soft light. This unique use of shape and material produces a diffused light that is free of glare while offering an abundance of illumination. These pieces are part of the permanent collection in the Museum of Modern Art in New York and remain icons in modern lighting.
Herman Miller now uses George Nelson's original materials and methods to hand craft each piece.

Mei is a pendant family composed of different shapes and lines but with a common denominator: the ribbon. The ribbon shades are made starting with the frames welded to the ribbon itself. Mei lamps are great for environments where a warm light is required. They have a wide diameter, offering a generous amount of direct light. Discrete and decorative, it's mechanical structure is hidden inside the lamp. Lamps are held by thin tensor wires that enhance its lightness. With Mei collection Bover has developed tailor-made lamps with important dimensions.

With a delicate bell shape available in two sizes and a variety of colors, Ronde can be used on its own or clustered. While this pendant primarily lights beneath, a small opening at the top of the bell allows for light to gently diffuse above as well.
