But, if brightness isn't your thing, it comes with a frosted glass diffuser to give a softened, glowing light. The lamp is UL listed and suitable for commercial spaces. Nelson was inspired by a set of silk-covered Swedish hanging lamps that he wanted to acquire for his office, but he found the price to be prohibitive. An ingenious and resourceful designer, he went on to create the first set of Bubble Lamps using a translucent white plastic spray. Nelson drew from elemental, organic shapes in making variations including sconces, table lamps and floor lamps.

Pendant includes a brushed, nickel-plated steel ceiling plate measuring 5.25" and a 6-foot cord. Product is UL-listed and rated for bulbs up to 150 watts. Bulb is not included.

Top British designer Benjamin Hubert gives this variation of Strand a spherical shape with an opening at the top that's allows illumination to reflect off the ceiling as well as to filter through the porous covering. A cocoon material made up of tiny individual strands is sprayed onto the steel inner framework, for an almost cloud-like appearance. Light is gently diffused through the shade, providing an buoyant glow to the surroundings.

Bau is a sculptural hanging lamp designed by Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt, who has combined composition and geometric shapes in a unique and creative design. Bau is a decorative lamp that suits both minimalistic interiors and more daring houses. The design is based on interlocking geometric circles, sticking out in all directions. Bau has an immediate pattern that is broken up by the discs' sizes and off-centre linkages, making the lamp living and organic in its expression. Vibeke Fonnesberg Schmidt explains: "Decoration does not need to be restricted to objects you hang on the wall, but can also form an integral part of more functional objects, such as a table or a lamp. This creates new and exciting opportunities in furnishing. When you move your position in relation to Bau, the tight geometric lines are broken. The sort of experience I want people to have is to see the Bau lamp and wonder what it looks like from the other side. It must appeal to peoples' sense of curiosity."

Lambert & Fils Dot 02 Suspension Pendant

Ronde is a traditional archetype of a pendant lamp with a bell-shaped spun aluminium shade. A unique detail is the opening on the top with an overhanging collar that reminds of a jar such as a vase or an amphora. In this design the light spreads out of the spout-like opening and casts a smooth light gradient at the wire and ceiling. Ronde is in several languages the word for round, circular or rotating but it is also the flat blank used for metal spinning technique, which is rotating around a mould core and shaped to a 3-dimensional body. Canopy included. The textile cord is black, except for matte white variation, which matches the shade.
