MyHavtorn’s Facial Mask has been a long time coming. Once available only to facialists, we realized how desperately we needed it when their team visited from Sweden to perform a couple of days of facials in our treatment room with this mask as the centerpiece — and everyone emerged marveling at their soft, bright skin. All the MyHavtorn products are remarkable, but this particular one is a showstopper.
How does this little jar of goodness leave skin so glowy? It only contains a handful of ingredients, each one of them thoughtfully chosen to work as a team: the combination gently deep-cleans and detoxifies all skin types, leaving even delicate complexions with an I-just-returned-from-vacation glow. Moroccan rhassoul clay lightly exfoliates and draws out impurities; rosehip powder brightens; allantoin soothes; and the star ingredient — sea buckthorn berries grown on the MyHavtorn family farm in Sweden, then dried and ground to a fine powder — nourishes and calms sensitive skin.
To completely avoid preservatives, this mask was left as a powder that you mix with water à la minute, preferably with a facial brush like May Lindstrom’s; carrageenan, from the highest quality Danish seaweed, turns the whole combination into a gel that feels cooling and calming and uniquely satisfying to brush on your face. After 10-15 minutes, remove it with a muslin cloth soaked in warm water, and whatever your skin type, you’ll look and feel like a significantly fresher, brighter version of yourself. You'll actually enjoy all the mixing and measuring and brushing and muslin cloth-ing, because once you get the hang of it, you'll decide that it's quite possibly the best skin-freshening mask you have ever used.
An essential before any event where you want others to stare enviously at your skin. Seriously, it's that good.

Hydrating, vitality-boosting, absolutely perfect wonder serum / 1.7 oz

YULI Ambrosia Beauty Nectar arrived to us as a product of intrigue and mystery. “What does it do? How? Why? And why is it so expensive?” we asked our new friends at YULI. Their first answer was, “Try it. You’ll see.”
As infuriating as that answer may be to the perpetually inquisitive, it was the right one to give us. Because with Ambrosia Beauty Nectar, it’s not that there isn’t a solid ingredient deck with awe-inspiring benefits behind it, because there is; it’s that, with this product, a lot of its magic comes down to those ingredients’ synergistic effects.
We’re fans of hyaluronic acid; this takes hyaluronic acid to new levels with 18 (that’s right, eighteen) different types of it. Then it adds supercharged antioxidants like astaxanthin and fucoxanthin (which leave Vitamin C in the dust), a special EGF derived from marine algae (used by plastic surgeons in Korea to speed healing), and coconut endosperm (which drenches skin with the type of moisture it may not have seen since its days in an amniotic sac). It is a crazy-wonderful ingredient list that makes you think, “I have no idea what all these things combined will do, but it sounds MARVELOUS.”
So let’s get to what we noticed with this gel-like serum. The first day we used it, we thought our skin looked particularly vibrant, but we weren’t sure if we were imagining things. After a few days, we were convinced that it was this product, but we still weren’t sure what it was doing, exactly. And after two weeks, we resolved to never live without it, if at all possible. Our skin looked fresh, vibrant, healthy: it was our skin at its best. We weren’t looking for lines and wrinkles to see if they were plumped up; we weren’t looking for dark spots to see if they were diminished; those specifics, quite honestly, didn’t really matter anymore. We were just looking in awe at our skin, thinking that it looked better than ever.
Perhaps the best sign? Our founder took two bottles with her on a recent trip because she was afraid she’d run out of it, and the mere thought of that was unbearable. Really, this product is like witchcraft. And it plays nicely with every other product, too. (Of course it does. It’s perfect.)

The vitamin A- and C-rich, elasticity-boosting, full-suite-of-omega-fatty-acids-boasting sea buckthorn berry contains oil in both its fruit and its seed. The seed oil is a bit muskier and golden colored; the fruit oil a bit fruitier and vibrantly, unabashedly orange. Together, they’re used in the magical MyHavtorn Facial Oil that’s been featured in Glamour for its ability to quell rosacea better than prescription treatments.
Each time we place an order, our friends at MyHavtorn cold-press the two oils separately from berries they’ve grown in their Swedish farm’s mineral-rich soil. Their newest, limited-quantity offering is this ingestible Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil, which is obtained from the pulp and juice of the berry. In addition to being naturally rich in vitamins A and C as well as Omegas 3, 6, and 9, the fruit oil is uniquely high in Omega 7 essential fatty acids, which nourish and heal dry, sensitive skin.
Taken internally, sea buckthorn oil has a pleasant, fruity flavor and demonstrated ability to calm inflammation, soothe mucosal tissues (it’s particularly helpful during menopause), promote skin hydration and elasticity, and relieve dry eyes. TEK’s boar bristle brush is an indispensable tool for fine hair. It's a favorite of hair experts in Italy, and we could see why when we watched how well it performed in the hands of a professional: our favorite local hair stylist, Bradley Crane, used it on one of our team members and almost magically smoothed and volumized her hair — just with the brush. No products or hot tools. (It's simple, too. Just tease the underside of hair, section by section, and gently smooth the top when you’re done. You'll see perfectly volumized hair with no static. Kahina’s Fez Body Serum is one of things that we never knew we needed until we tried it — then promptly decided that it, along with its softer, lighter version ( Essaouira) was an absolutely critical part of our daily routine. The antioxidant-rich formula is extraordinarily moisturizing, but it doesn’t feel heavy.
The key to its perfect balance of hydration-without-weight is its blend of oils. Ellis Brooklyn Fawn is, to us, the perfume equivalent of a sundress. Neroli, coconut milk, and vanilla mingle with bergamot, edited florals, and musk for a fun, summery, and multilayered scent that reminds you of something that you can’t quite put your finger on — approachable, yet intriguing.
Like all the Ellis Brooklyn scents, Fawn is free of endocrine-disrupting phthalates and parabens, but far more sophisticated than the typical essential-oil fragrances that are typically the only option if you're avoiding those questionable ingredients. It’s no wonder the Ellis Brooklyn scents are so excellent: they’ve been created by Bee Shapiro, a beauty and style writer for The New York Times, Vogue, and others, and famed perfumers like Jerome Epinette and Pascal Gaurin.

If we could dream up the perfect hand treatment, it would be MyHavtorn's Hand Cream. This lovely cream is incredibly nourishing due to its high concentration of organic sea buckthorn oil, which is rich in anti-aging antioxidants as well as a full suite of Omegas — 3, 6, 7, and 9 — that deeply hydrate and heal dry, cracked, rough skin. Sunflower oil, glycerin, and flaxseed extract add to the moisturizing and reparative qualities of this gorgeous non-toxic formula.
MyHavtorn recently updated this cream to be more protective with the addition of beeswax and shea butter to help hold moisture in the skin; it also now contains naturally antiseptic lemon oil and anti-inflammatory sandalwood.
It's absolutely essential for those with sensitive skin and eczema...and everyone else, we think. The Kristina Holey + Marie Veronique Micronutrient + Hydro Mask is like the racecar of hydrating masks: it requires some special handling, but once you learn how to use it the right way, it’s exhilaratingly effective. This mask is just what you should reach for when skin looks and feels dull, dry, or depleted — generally in need of TLC.
When Kristina first described the Micronutrient + Hydro Mask to us as “a full moisture reset,” she mentioned a crazy algorithm that Marie had put together for it, so we knew it would be something fabulously complicated and lovable. It does boast an impressive ingredient list, replete with things that you immediately want on your skin when you hear about them: carnosine, squalene, sea kelp, curcumin, various fermentations, and the intriguingly uncommon antioxidant bacopa. But these things weren’t just randomly chosen to sound enticing; each ingredient was painstakingly chosen to create a deeply rehydrating combination that would optimize skin’s barrier function.
The key to getting the most out of this mask is a good massage. It turns from the deep golden color to a slightly lighter yellow once you’ve massaged adequately, which is handy and very cool and science experiment-y. You can then leave it on for 20-30 minutes or overnight as an intensive treatment for very dry skin. It’s also fabulous when massaged in and left on as a top layer during plane flights. If you're oily and/or acne prone, use it just once a week. If you're dry and dehydrated, you can go wild and use it every day if you so choose.

Kristina Holey + Marie Veronique Balancing HypoTonic is right up there with the Barrier Restore Serum as one of our favorite products in the lineup — and one of our favorite products, period.
