Button, Button...perhaps Canadian designer Lukas Peet was thinking of the children's game when naming his LED pendant. Certainly the resemblance is there, in the wide and flat round shape. ANDlight's fixture can be directed at any desired angle for illumination. (It can also be hung with the more-customary horizontal orientation.) Button Pendant Light

Marianne Brandt designed various lamps with Hans Przyrembel. This must have been music to the ears of Walter Gropius, because lamps could be exploited economically to raise much-needed funds for the Bauhaus School. The artists made the lamps at their own workshop, and they were then used at the Bauhaus workshops. One particular example is the hanging lamp known today as HMB 25/500, the height of which can be adjusted using a pendulum and counterweight. Its hemispherical shade is a clear reflection of Marianne Brandt’s signature style.
TECNOLUMEN reproduced the hanging lamps by consulting catalogs containing the exact dimensions and by studying two old models, one of which belonged to the Bauhaus Archive in Berlin.  Studies revealed that various materials and fittings were used with different dimensions. For example, the lampshade was made of aluminum, nickel silver, or nickel-plated copper sheet.
TECNOLUMEN chose the nickel-plated version because non-anodized aluminum quickly loses its appeal and nickel silver (alpacca) is hardly manufactured anymore. Some of the lamps had a flanged lower edge to give the shade greater stability because the material wasn’t very thick.
The new lamps have a straight-cut edge (like some of the old models), and the pulley has been faithfully reconstructed like all the other parts. The socket and black covered cable are the only parts that have been changed to comply with modern requirements.

Hmb 25/500 Bauhaus Ceiling Lamp By Marianne Brandt

Marianne Brandt designed this ceiling lamp with an opal glass ball at her metal workshop in Dessau in 1926. The simple, unassuming and timelessly beautiful Bauhaus model became such an instant hit that it was produced in series.  The DMB 26 by TECNOLUMEN has an impressively timeless presence, which radiates beautifully in modern and classically furnished interiors.

It was created in 1926 by the painter, sculptor, photographer and designer Marianne Brandt, one of the most prominent Bauhaus artists whose designs are now displayed at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the British Museum in London.
DMB 26 features an opal glass ball that appears to float through the room as it scatters its hazy light. The spherical lamp hangs from three 14-cm-short delicate rods attached to a circular base plate. The glass ball comes in different sizes. While the glass is overlaid with opal, the metallic baseplate and rods have different finishes.
The catalog information seems to suggest the metal parts were all made of aluminum. As aluminum quickly oxidizes and becomes unsightly, the lamp now features a nickel-plated or brass-plated surface.
